My apologies for my absence from the blogger world. I was in Vienna this weekend for a friends birthday and had an amazing time there! While I was browsing Instagram a couple of days ago, I came across a picture of a bracelet by a brand named HardWear. It is a new line of jewelry by the young Canadian student Brooke Lipman. The 21 year old makes bracelets using new and vintage materials such as chains, threads and other embellishments, which are hand-crafted by her. After browsing her Facebook Page I wanted to know more about Brooke and wrote her a message. She told me that she has always been very creative and loves making her own jewelry, purses, and paintings. Her mother had encouraged her to sell her designs and after all of her friends were thrilled with the bracelets Brooke had made for them and kept on wanting more, she decided to make a business out of it. Brooke says she has always had a very edgy style, with a love for studs and chains. She gets her inspiration from a punk-rock phase she had as a teenager, which has a great influence on her designs. Brooke likes incorporating hardware supplies, such as nuts and washers, hence the name HardWear.
