Spring/Summer 2012 Trends: Floral Pants

Floral pants have been around for a couple seasons now, but have only become wearable this season. I absolutely adore the whole floral look - be it pants, shirts, blazers or skirts. Watch out that you don't wear too many pieces at once. Wearing one cool piece is enough to make a whole outfit. Add a neutral tee to a pair of floral pants and colorful shoes and you have a perfect outfit! Check out some styling inspirations bellow.

OPI Holland Collection - I Have A Herring Problem

The OPI Holland Collection has finally hit stores! This collection has two blue polishes which are absolutely gorgeous. The first one I tried was I Have A Herring Problem, which is slightly darker then the second shade of blue. It is a a grayish blue with silver and gold micro glitter. The formula is very thin, so you might need three coats for complete coverage. Stay tuned for I Don't Give A Rotterdam!

HardWear by Brooke Lipman - Amazing Hand-Crafted Jewelry

My apologies for my absence from the blogger world. I was in Vienna this weekend for a friends birthday and had an amazing time there! While I was browsing Instagram a couple of days ago, I came across a picture of a bracelet by a brand named HardWear. It is a new line of jewelry by the young Canadian student Brooke Lipman. The 21 year old makes bracelets using new and vintage materials such as chains, threads and other embellishments, which are hand-crafted by her. After browsing her Facebook Page I wanted to know more about Brooke and wrote her a message. She told me that she has always been very creative and loves making her own jewelry, purses, and paintings. Her mother had encouraged her to sell her designs and after all of her friends were thrilled with the bracelets Brooke had made for them and kept on wanting more, she decided to make a business out of it. Brooke says she has always had a very edgy style, with a love for studs and chains. She gets her inspiration from a punk-rock phase she had as a teenager, which has a great influence on her designs. Brooke likes incorporating hardware supplies, such as nuts and washers, hence the name HardWear.

Outfit Of The Day: Floral Skirt

On tuesday I went to Zara to see what was in store for spring and fell in love with this asymmetric floral skirt! I probably wouldn't have worn the skirt with a blazer if it wasn't for business. It looks absolutely amazing with a pink pastel sweater, which will probably be my outfit for the brunch I am having with my girlfriends on Saturday. I am amazed that the skirt can be worn as a transitional piece with black tights! It will be perfect with studded sandals and a laid back shirt this summer!

Pastels at NYFW

Another trend I am loving this spring are pastels. Last spring designers started using pastel blues and pinks, but this season many more shades are popping up! Pastels are also great to wear with nude colors, like in the picture above. These very inspirational pictures were posted on Shopbops Facebook page and show you how you can already wear pastels now! Enjoy!

Spring Flowers

My absolute favorite trend this season are flowery prints! I paid a visit to Zara today and was overwhelmed with all the floral prints and the enormous choice of skirts and dresses. I'll post some pictures this week, you'll love them! This trend is very easy to pull off: just wear one piece at a time so you don't over do it.

Unfortunately Spring isn't nearly in sight yet when you look outside the window, but Chanel has released it's spring colors in Europe. Chanel calls April a luminous garnet, which describes the color perfectly. It is a reddish tone with hints of purple and brown. It really is a very different kind of red. Your could describe it as a reddish glossy plum.
