Birthday Present: Alexander Wang Diego Bucket Bag in Petrol

I celebrated my 26th birthday this weekend with amazing friends, and great food and wine! We set up the Playstation and sang karaoke via SingStar the whole night through. It was great that everybody participated and seemed to have fun singing songs like Eye Of The Tiger or Super Freak. We had such an amazing time but I barely had any voice left when I woke up sunday morning.

So, my boyfriend does spoil me a little, but to be fair we are both crazy when it comes to gifting each other. After sobering up on sunday, Alex presented me with a box from NET-A-PORTER, in it this amazing Diego Bucket Bag in Petrol. I am absolutely in love with it and can't wait to wear it with my floral print dresses and skirts with summer!

OPI Holland Collection - I Don't Give A Rotterdam

Beginning of the week I introduced you to the first color I tried from the OPI Holland Collection called I Have A Herring Problem. I Don't Give A Rotterdam is the second blue polish in the collection. It is a dusty light blue color with silver and gold micro glitter. It is definitely my favorite color in OPI's 2012 Spring Collection. The formula is very thin, so you might need three coats for opacity.

Floral pants have been around for a couple seasons now, but have only become wearable this season. I absolutely adore the whole floral look - be it pants, shirts, blazers or skirts. Watch out that you don't wear too many pieces at once. Wearing one cool piece is enough to make a whole outfit. Add a neutral tee to a pair of floral pants and colorful shoes and you have a perfect outfit! Check out some styling inspirations bellow.

The first one I tried was I Have A Herring Problem, which is slightly darker then the second shade of blue. It is a a grayish blue with silver and gold micro glitter. My apologies for my absence from the blogger world. I was in Vienna this weekend for a friends birthday and had an amazing time there! While I was browsing Instagram a couple of days ago, I came across a picture of a bracelet by a brand named HardWear. It is a new line of jewelry by the young Canadian student Brooke Lipman. The 21 year old makes bracelets using new and vintage materials such as chains, threads and other embellishments, which are hand-crafted by her. After browsing her Facebook Page I wanted to know more about Brooke and wrote her a message. She told me that she has always been very creative and loves making her own jewelry, purses, and paintings. Her mother had encouraged her to sell her designs and after all of her friends were thrilled with the bracelets Brooke had made for them and kept on wanting more, she decided to make a business out of it. Brooke says she has always had a very edgy style, with a love for studs and chains. She gets her inspiration from a punk-rock phase she had as a teenager, which has a great influence on her designs. Brooke likes incorporating hardware supplies, such as nuts and washers, hence the name HardWear.

Outfit Of The Day: Floral Skirt

On tuesday I went to Zara to see what was in store for spring and fell in love with this asymmetric floral skirt! I probably wouldn't have worn the skirt with a blazer if it wasn't for business. It looks absolutely amazing with a pink pastel sweater, which will probably be my outfit for the brunch I am having with my girlfriends on Saturday. I am amazed that the skirt can be worn as a transitional piece with black tights! It will be perfect with studded sandals and a laid back shirt this summer!

My absolute favorite trend this season are flowery prints! I paid a visit to Zara today and was overwhelmed with all the floral prints and the enormous choice of skirts and dresses. Chanel calls April a luminous garnet, which describes the color perfectly. It is a reddish tone with hints of purple and brown. It really is a very different kind of red. Your could describe it as a reddish glossy plum.

I am got back to Zurich yesterday and today was a beautiful sunny day. After spending three weeks in Vienna, which is my favorite place in the whole wide world, it was still very nice to sleep in my own bed last night and finally see my cats again! When I looked out of the window today the sun was shining and the birds were chirping, so it really felt like spring was coming. In reality was 4 degrees celsius outside. I received so many cool presents for christmas from my family this year and wanted to share some of them with you. My boyfriend Alex gave me this beautiful Prada Saffiano Lux Tote in gray, which is perfect because it fits my laptop and has separate compartments for a cellphone and keys. I love having an organized handbag so it doesn't take forever to find something. My sister Sophia got me the Walter Steiger platform heels. Unfortunately they are a bit to big for me but maybe I will find some insoles that are tick enough to make it work. She also got me an amazing ring, which I will wear every day now! To quench my nail polish thirst my sister Charlotte and aunt both gave me some polish from brands that I don't have yet. You saw that mondays post was the gold Butter polish, which works so well with any outfit and the Arty rings! I still have to try the Scotch polishes and will post about them soon! My aunt from Germany gave me my first Butter nail polish and I'm loving it! I think the brush is very similar to chanels' brushes and the polish applies without streaks. The Full Monty is a beautiful metallic gold with tiny glitter particles. I really need to find out where to buy Butter in Vienna or Zurich.

I am obsessed with Stardust by Deborah Lippmann! The color is a beautiful brushed metallic, which applies perfectly and doesn't leave behind brushstrokes. It is the perfect color for the christmas and party season. It applies fairly opaque with one coat, but use two for the perfect look! If you can't get your hand on Lippmann; OPI, ZOYA, and Sephora by OPI have great alternatives!

Coming Home For Christmas

I am so excited to go home for christmas and have already started to prepare what I will be taking with me. I'll be staying a little longer this time, which is a good excuse to pack plenty of shoes and accessories. Unfortunately, Penny and Lilly will be staying in Zürich, because any longer trip means a lot of stress for them. They are better off staying with my neighbor, who adores them.

Last week I tried a nail polish that has been sitting on my nightstand for quite a while now. It looks super glittery in the bottle, so I was expecting to have bejeweled nails, but after the third coat the result did not really meet my expectations. Still a fun look, but you should definitely apply a top coat for a glossy finish.

Today I had to run errands in the city and wanted to year a casual and warm outfit, because the weather in Zurich has been terrible this week. Plus I was having a bad hair day, so the hat came in handy. I am obsessed with this sweater by American Vintage! It's definitely the softest, most comfortable piece in my closet. At first I wasn't really sure how to wear it, because it is rather short and shapeless but it looks good if you layer it with a long shirt.

Penny wouldn't stop screaming until she was in the picture! She is growing up so fast!

Karl Lagerfeld sure knows how to celebrate an opulent feast!

For Chanel's Prefall 2012 runway show, guests were seated at an elaborate banquet at the Grand Palais in Paris. Although Karl Lagerfeld has never been to India, he was inspired by the country and its people. "It's much more inspiring not to go to places than to go", Lagerfeld said after the show. Guests were served champagne, guava juice, tea, and miniatures cakes and sandwiches. The theme "Paris-Bombay" was to act as a reminder that the European fashion industry has turned to india to produce extravagantly handworked pieces because it has become extremely expensive to produce these in Europe. My personal highlights of the collection were the jewel headpieces, nose rings and twisted dreadlock updos.

Stormy Weather

I first saw this color on the catwalk in Narciso Rodriguez's Fall 2011 show and feel in love with it.

During my London visit last month I finally found it at House of Fraser and was so happy because the only place that sells it in Switzerland is crazy expensive!

This color is definitely on of the top 5 polishes this fall. It is a perfect granite hue which has an incredible glossy finish.

Fashion Show at the Odeon Theater Vienna

Last night, my friend Alexandra and I went to a fashion show by Ingried Brugger (director of the Austrian Bank Austria Kunstforum) which was held at the Odeon Theater in Vienna. The name of this polish fits so perfectly to the color because you really do feel like a diva and are full of confidence when you wear this color! In the sunlight it is a beautiful magenta purple with a shimmer and in artificial lighting the color is a metallic red. Definitely a keeper and color to wear year-round!

I have been looking for cool collar necklaces for a while now and really loved this one from dannijo, but wanted to find a cheaper alternative. Topshop has an amazing variety of jewelry where you could spend hours looking through them if it weren't so extremely busy and hot in there. I bought two collar necklaces, two rings and two vintage bracelets. I was surprised that they had a vintage jewelry section at Topshop on Oxford Street!

London Calling

I had an amazing time in London this weekend! I arrived thursday afternoon and checked in to the Sofitel St. James, where my boyfriend was staying. The room was amazing and the location was perfect - right by Piccadilly Circus. I first went to South Molton Street, which I love because it has all my favorite shops in one spot - Sandro, Maje, Browns, The Kooples and many more. After that I went to Selfridges for my appointment at OPI and needless to say I got some nail polish (but only one for myself). On friday I went to Topshop on Oxford Street which was CRAZY! So many people in one store and the place is gigantic. I got some christmas presents and a denim shirt for myself. Afterwards Giustina and I met at Browns for tea and we stuffed ourselves with yummy sandwiches and scones with cream. My sister Sophia arrived in London friday night, so Alex and I stayed at her boyfriends place for the weekend. We had an amazing time with them! My flight was supposed to leave for Zurich on Sunday but it cancelled due to fog. Alex and I checked in to the W Hotel which is super stylish but almost a little to much for my taste. Saturday evening Alex, Joe, Giustina, Sophia, and I had dinner at Yauatcha. If you ever go there you need to try their dim sum and crispy duck. Delicious!!

After Yauatcha we went to a member's club called Dorsia. They have a cool club in the basement and we had an amazing time!

The W Hotel in London - yes the bathroom sink is in the middle of the room. The rest of the bathroom is hidden behind mirrors.

The Color To Watch

I have been craving purple nail polish lately and is a great murky purple that has an amazing glow to it in the sunlight. This polish is fairly translucent so you will need at least three coats.

By the way, I just made an appointment for a manicure and pedicure at the OPI Nail Bar at Selfridges for Thursday. London, baby!!!
